Cold – Raz Simone

January 11, 2013

I’ve gotten this track in my email a couple times now, and while that usually doesn’t catch my attention, I still listen to it. This is a great song, totally worthy of being received twice. Raz Simone released “Cold” as a single off of his upcoming album, ‘Solomon Samuel Simone’, almost a week ago. The lyrics alone are stunning, addressing hypocrisy in religion, human relations, and in relationships. The chorus and song title refer to how people see him, as cold, when he points out that he’s just not playing along with the hypocrisy everyone else does, that he won’t lie, not even to his kid about Santa. On top of the brilliant lyrics, this track has a jazzy, entrancing beat, and it even has a sax solo. But what pulls this is entire song together is the quality of voice that Raz Simone utilizes. He is both a catchy rapper and a smooth singer. Together the effect is practically chilling. Enjoy this one.
