Fear Not the Dubstep XXXIV

March 8, 2012

It’s a Thursday and that means dubstep! I’d like to take the time before you get into the music to direct your attention to our new Facebook Page and the like button on the top right of the site. In return for plugging this again, here are seven songs instead of five!

Let’s start things quiet and filled with some beautiful vocal harmonies, then let’s get going! Hype Jones really made an awesome track out of this song. The wobs are unbelievably satisfying, and the melody is preserved and enjoyable. The pop vocal hook really draws me in and gets me ready for some bass. Spotted on the Burning Ear. Enjoy!

Temptation (Hype Jones Gone Beastmode Remix) – Zander Bleck / Or from HulkShare

This track starts quiet but is making a claim to loudness within seconds. Butch Clancy knows how to play with the contrast between quiet and loud. Amy’s vocals make for a quiet and high foil to the loud and heavy bass. Check it out!

Sway (Butch Clancy Remix) – Amy Kuney / Or from HulkShare

PatrickReza dropped this today and I like it. It’s exceedingly chill and pretty. With slightly distorted vocals the slightly dampened sound of the wobs fits perfectly. When the strings rise, it is striking. Give it a listen!

Until We Bleed (PatrickReza Dubstep Remix) – Kleerup + Lykke Li / Or from HulkShare

Feature Cuts had a very solid base to start with when making this song. David Guetta and Avicii are about as solid as you get. I think this is an excellent party version of it. Enjoy!

Speaker Wrecker is new to me. But I enjoy the 8bit influences on this heavy industrial track. The computer sounds just flow out of this track. Check it out.

In case you weren’t interested in mashups (tomorrow) here’s something to get you interested. BL455 throws bass(nectar) everywhere playing around with this B.o.B track. This is definitely my favorite version of this song. The only thing that I don’t really enjoy is the random bit of Beyonce. Give it a listen and decide for yourself.

Here’s another from the Burning Ear; this past roundup of theirs was just so chock full of good dubstep. Krewella’s “Killin’ It” is awesome. With some gorgeous female vocals riding the track like a wave of bass, this track makes you want to dance and party. Too bad it’s Thursday. Enjoy and have a good one folks!
