Suddenly Mashups. Everywhere. XXXXVIII

March 3, 2012

Well it’s not Friday, but I was quite busy then, despite having a bunch of awesome mashups to share with you all. I’m going to share them today instead. In deference to the mood of Saturday, I’m starting out with chiller songs then moving into more partying music to finish with. Here we go.

With a chill electronic instrumental from Neon Indian, “Rack City” has never sounded so chill. The Hood Internet nailed this one. Chill or cruise to this track. Check it out.

Now if you’re feeling a little more like movement, Daigo gives you a funky rap track with smoky saxophone in the background. It’s relaxed and energetic at the same time. Very enjoyable. Give it a listen.

DJ Bahler continues our jazzy awakening with Brand New and saxophone. It may seem like an unlikely pairing, but it works beautifully. Enjoy!

Farse Poetica – DJ BAHLER / Or from HulkShare

We’re bringing the energy up another notch, with a rather vindictive rap song on top of Two Door Cinemas familiar guitar riff. Kosher Kittens did quite well with this one and I can even imagine the guitar line as a taunting voice in the background to fit the lyrics. Check it out!

We’re taking the energy in a different direction by adding a prog house beat to guide the song. Its Overture didn’t give much variation in the lyrics but that doesn’t really bother me. Spotted on Cause Equals Time. Give it a listen.

In case that last song tired you out, this one starts low in energy but works it way up. The beginning to this mashup is a little rough, the connections between the songs tenuous at best. But when the beat drops, this fits beautifully. I thought I was getting tired of the Gotye remixes, but not too tired to actively enjoy The Fabulous Beatmashers‘ stab at it. Enjoy!

Now it’s time to get in the pop prog house mood. DJ Trademark knows his trade well. He knows that few friends of pop can resist a chorus with T-Pain. This is entirely worth checking out and then putting on repeat for awhile.

Turn On – DJ Trademark / Or from HulkShare

Let’s make sure you’re getting pumped up and ready to go. I’m not going to spoil the surprise but make sure you listen to at least the 1:14 mark. 5 & A Dime gives a little of everything in this, delivering Skrillex rage without the bass to fit with the prog house beat and pop vocals. Give it a listen!

Cry Over Spilt Milk – 5 & A Dime / Or from HulkShare

Final track folks. This is to make sure you’re really really ready for pop music at that party tonight. The Jane Doze start this song out with some T-Swift, and I don’t mind at all. Enjoy. Have a good weekend you all!
