Young Superstars – Eddy B & Tim Gunter

February 13, 2012

Ok. First week of the new semester done, back to our regularly scheduled music. First off. You know what I love about blogging? Well obviously the music. But more specifically, I got into this game because I love music so much I wanted to share. Now that I’m in it, people send me amazing songs! I know it’s just feeding my addiction, but I don’t care. Take this song from Eddy B & Tim Gunter for instance. It was buried in my inbox for a week or two and then when I finally had time to listen to it I had to stop what I was doing and just listen. From the very beginning with the lovely synthesized bell tones to the middle with crisp verses and a beautiful, practically ethereal chorus to the gentle ending that crescendos before it lets go, this song demands attention. I’ve had it on repeat for over half an hour and haven’t minded once. While the three note hook is simple, it is damned effective. Tim Gunter’s production is crisp and flawless. When Eddy B raps, he dances around the beat with double time and syncopation and his lyrics tell a familiar story of getting large. In their case, I wholeheartedly believe that they’re going to make it. Listen to this already!
