Skeptic – SomeWhere Else

March 15, 2011

I haven’t heard from these guys in awhile, but their tracks always impress. SomeWhere Else really deliver on this track. It’s darker than some of their songs, but their dark ones always seem to be my favorites. This track is all about believing in ghosts and the scorn they feel for it. The guitar riff feels resolute, at times ominous, matching the tone of the song like a glove. The chorus is beautiful. I didn’t notice it the first time I listened through because I was focusing on the haunting vocals in the chorus, but tucked discreetly underneath those vocals is a riff off of the Ghost Busters theme. Brilliant! This track is unbelievably good. I think it’s my new favorite, taking the place of “Missile Guidance”, which I posted earlier. I saw this on Pigeons and Planes first. Hope you like it as much as I do.
